Freshwater Macroinvertebrates will assist students and teachers in classifying and categorising Freshwater Macro Invertebrates which can be found in and around the unique Queensland (Australia) environment and as a result learn more about the characteristics, differences and similarities between them.
Freshwater Macroinvertebrates functions by using an interactive process of elimination similar to using Dichotomous Keys in the science domain. Users will filter through a presented list of freshwater macroinvertebrates by using a series of menus that will apply ‘real-time’ filters (based on animal characteristics) to the presented list so users can narrow their possible selection.
Included within Freshwater Macro invertebrates is a Glossary of Terms, Contributors and links to their respective websites and a geolocation page which will detect the users location and show it on a map. This functionality requires internet connectivity.
